Zepher founded Sonus Equity in 2022 and oversees platform companies while building relationships with new partner businesses. Having grown up with both parents as business owners, Zepher has been immersed in entrepreneurship his entire life. He bought his first company shortly after graduating college and successfully sold it at the age of 24, marking the beginning of a lifelong passion for business-building. He is dedicated to creating companies rooted in the history and values of family businesses. Before founding Sonus Equity, he owned multiple businesses and worked as both an investor and advisor, helping investors discover and evaluate their next investment opportunities.

Tim leads development of new partner company relationships and helps drive post-close strategy. Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs, Tim is deeply invested in working with business owners and their teams to achieve their future goals. Prior to Sonus, Tim spent a decade investing in and advising middle market companies.

Spencer manages top-of-funnel deal flow and oversees IT-related systems for new platform acquisitions and integration of add-ons. Spencer is passionate about working with founders and unique businesses, and is energized by the opportunity to shape company culture, as no two days are ever the same. Spencer brings over a decade of experience in the tech space, leveraging modern tools in industries and strategies that stand the test of time.

Max leads the accounting diligence for target acquisitions as well as post-close finance functions at the portfolio level. Prior to Sonus, Max spent a decade in M&A diligence roles as well as turnaround consulting, helping middle market companies manage liquidity issues and bank relationships. 

John serves as an Operating Partner at Sonus, where he focuses on driving operational efficiency and strategic growth across partner companies. Having started or led multiple large companies in the trades over the course of 20 years, John is energized by mentoring the leaders of Sonus’ partner companies and helping drive growth. He plays an instrumental role in developing field-level operations and optimizing profitability across organizations.

Josh Baker serves as an Operating Partner at Sonus, where he plays a vital role in platform growth and instilling operational KPIs into platform companies and subsequent add-on acquisitions. His entrepreneurial drive and mindset have led him to start and develop several businesses over the last 15 years, most notably a commercial electrical construction company he built from the ground up, resulting in a large exit in 2023. Josh is passionate about helping lead business owners to similar successes.

Daniel serves as an Operating Partner at Sonus, where he focuses on driving operational efficiency and strategic growth across partner companies. Passionate about collaborating with business owners and their teams, Daniel finds fulfillment in helping businesses achieve their long-term goals and full potential. With over two decades of experience scaling operations and fostering growth in the trades industries, he brings a hands-on, results-driven approach to creating value and building lasting partnerships.
